Victorian Mourning Plaited Hair Brooch
Antique English Victorian Mourning Brooch with intricately woven waxed hair, est 1870's. Unique and rare design 18ct gold frame featuring two filigree hearts and hanging balls in its design.
Jet and hair were commonly used as Mourning Jewellery throughout the 19th century during Queen Victoria's reign after the death of Prince Albert.
Material: 18ct yellow Gold, with waxed woven hair
Dimensions: 4.5cm Wide and 2cm High.
Condition: Excellent Condition. Small possible soldier mark on the ball.
