Antique Whitby Jet Bar Brooch

Antique English Victorian Whitby Jet bar brooch. Faceted elongated bow to the centre of the brooch with an original pin and plate to rear, est 1870's.

Original piece in a classic period design. Jet was commonly used as Mourning Jewellery throughout the 19th century during Queen Victoria's reign after the death of Prince Albert.

Material: Whitby Jet with a metal back plate and pin.

Dimensions: 7cm Wide and 1.6cm High.

Condition: Excellent Condition for age.
